2026 Summer

Learned data/statistical analysis + coding through coursework. Applied it to sports statistics and decision-making, completing a Moneyball-style project with some coursemates examining whether 40-yard dash times could predict early-career success for wide receivers in the NFL. This course was very enjoyable for me, coming from a sports background, and it was a great experience learning how statistical analysis can be used to evaluate players/teams and is a key factor in sports decision-making.

2026

Researched how personalized pricing exists today due to technology that estimates an individual's willingness to pay. Analyzed both the economic and philosophical effects of this new phenomenon and explored the issue by comparing definitions of fairness in our society.

2024–2025

Taking the YELL program allowed me to learn about my interest in entrepreneurship. Through the program, my team and I discovered CareQuest, a community initiative focused on making bridging the gap between generations. Working on brainstorming ideas, making slideshows, and performing an elevator pitch with my team taught me collaborative skills, while consistent performing in front of others improved my public speaking skills. Our team's efforts earned us second place in the final competition, an achievement that made the experience very rewarding and gave us the motivation to continue pursuing CareQuest to what it has become, today.

I began competitive swimming in grade one, and had weekly practices at Wayland Swim Club, it was a new experience for me and my first competitive sport. I moved on to Otters Swim in 2019 in West Vancouver, and practiced on average 4x a week. The highest tier I got to was the Lower Mainland Regional competitive swimming events and time standards in British Columbia, Canada, in 2021. Swimming was pursued recreationally in 2023 and 2024 due to heavy competitive golf schedules, and I recently joined my high school's swim team and swim coach teams in 2025.

2025–Present

Since 2025, I have been coaching our school's mixed swim team for Grades 3-7, using my competitive background to help young swimmers build strong technique. Beyond the physical skills, I try to make every practice engaging, creating an environment where young swimmers enjoy the sport.

I first started breaking with my school club in Grade 3, and it has remained one of my favorite hobbies ever since. My coach, Thaiyo Seo, is now an Olympic gold-medal-winning coach after his student, Phil Wizard, won gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Over the years, breaking has given me countless great memories with my friends while also greatly improving my creativity and confidence to perform in front of crowds. I have some videos of my performances and practices linked below.

Alongside breakdancing as a hobby, I also teach younger students in the school club I first joined. I focus on helping beginners learn new moves while encouraging them to be creative and develop their own style. I have been teaching alongside my coach and friend Thaiyo throughout middle and high school, and it has been a special experience to see students discover breaking and develop a passion for it, just as I did when I first started in Grade 3.
